Liverpool may have received a boost in their Premier League title aspirations tonight after Manchester City midfielder Rodri limped off the pitch in their Champions League clash with Atalanta.
The crucial Spanish midfielder was forced off after just 40 minutes with a suspected hamstring injury as Man City led 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Rodri had started the match alongside Fernandinho at centre-half due to Pep Guardiola’s current injury woes, but now looks set to join the likes of Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte in being sidelined.
The extent of the injury is yet to be known, but there now could be fears that the influential 23-year-old will miss City’s visit to Anfield on November 11.

Rodri’s absence can only be seen as a boost for Liverpool in their bid to beat Guardiola’s side in lifting the Premier League this season.
That meeting next month could prove crucial in the title race and if Rodri isn’t involved, there’s a clear weakness for the Reds’ ruthless attack to bear down on.
City do have admirable squad depth at their disposal, but losing a player of Rodri’s quality will be a cause for concern ahead of an action-packed period in the Premier League.
