Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move to Juventus this week, amid rumours that they had scouts watching him during Sunday’s win over Tottenham.
The Egyptian has become one of world football’s biggest names during his time with the Reds, scoring a remarkable 79 goals in 118 appearances.
Someone who has questioned Salah’s potential switch to Juve is Liverpool legend Steve Nicol.
Speaking to ESPN FC, the Scot claimed it would be an undoubted step down for the 27-year-old:
Why would he want to go to Juventus? Could someone tell me?
No disrespect to Juventus, but right now he’s playing with the European champions, who are favourites to win the Premier League. Why?

Nicol is spot on in his assessment, even though the Serie A giants remain one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Liverpool are currently at a stage where they are among the world’s top two club teams, along with Manchester City.
In the past, Juve would have been a jump forward for a player, but it is testament to the job Jurgen Klopp is doing that it has completely changed.
Many of Europe’s top players would jump at the chance to play in this Liverpool side, as they continue to grow all the time.
