Liverpool beat Aston Villa 2-1 away from home in a dramatic finish this afternoon.
The Reds started the game very sloppily in the first half, with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds struggling to get ticking. As a result, it didn’t take long for Villa to go 1-0 up, punishing Liverpool’s poor start to the game.
The Reds thought that they had responded quickly when Roberto Firmino ‘equalised’, although VAR ruled the goal out, with Firmino’s armpit offside.
The current European Champions started the second half with a mountain to climb. During the second half, Liverpool had many chances, but just did not convert any shots. It seemed like one of those afternoons where Aston Villa were going to snatch a win.
However, Andrew Robertson equalised in the 86th minute and immediately the away side got momentum under their belt in the late stages of the game. In the most extraordinary of circumstances, the ruthless Sadio Mane grabbed the winner in the 94th minute to gain the hard fought three points for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

That is the most satisfying three points this season.
Where do I begin with this great Liverpool side? They have mental strength of robots! This ‘never say die’ is second to none, and the Reds have Jurgen Klopp to thank for that.
The performance was really poor in the first half. We looked spineless, lacklustre and naive.
I am absolutely flabbergasted how VAR ruled out Firmino’s goal. VAR just seems very inconsistent nowadays, however it is a rule we all have to get use to.
The current European Champions sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League and have a blockbuster fixture against Manchester City next in the league.
