Liverpool and Tottenham are both interested in signing former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay, according to Calciomercato.

The Dutchman flopped during his time at Old Trafford, but he has found a new lease of life at Lyon.

Depay has matured into a key player for the Ligue 1 outift, as well as the Netherlands, and Liverpool have been linked with him before.

This latest report claims that the Reds and Spurs are both eyeing up a move for the 25-year-old, with the Premier League pair believed to be admirers of the player.

While some may be put off by the links because of Depay’s United past, not least his struggles there, he is a different player now.

Capable of playing anywhere across a front-three, he would be an ideal man to add depth to Liverpool’s squad, allowing Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino a breather from time to time.

Jurgen Klopp has been reluctant to sign new attacking players, however, and the fact that Depay would likely want regular football is likely to work against him.

He would get that at Spurs, but not at Liverpool.
