Raheem Sterling hasn’t had the happiest of few days.

The former Liverpool man lost 3-1 back at Anfield for Manchester City on Sunday, proving to be a hugely frustrated figure.

His temper boiled over late on, getting into a bust-up with Joe Gomez, and a similar squabble on England duty has seen him dropped for the Three Lions’ clash with Montenegro on Thursday.

It could get worse for Sterling, at least if Liverpool supporters get their way.

Footage has emerged of a nasty tackle the 24-year-old made on Virgil van Dijk at the end of Sunday’s clash, in which he appeared to stamp on the Dutchman’s ankle.

These Reds fans believe a ban could be in order, given the nature of the challenge.

At the time, it looked as though Van Dijk may have made the most of the tackle, but on second viewing, it was a bad one by Sterling.

Without bias taking over too much, it should certainly be looked at by the FA, with the ex-Liverpool star seemingly making a concerted effort to foul Van Dijk.

It may be that nothing comes of it, but losing Sterling would be another blow for City, as they come under increasing pressure to keep winning this season.
