Xherdan Shaqiri would be a good option for Tottenham and Arsenal, according to former Spurs striker Darren Bent.

The 28-year-old has become an increasingly peripheral figure at Anfield, having been a regular this time last year.

Shaqiri was thriving in a 4-2-3-1 formation, but Jurgen Klopp’s decision to revert back to a 4-3-3 system saw his chances limited in the second half of 2018/19.

Currently out injured, there is a feeling that the Swiss will be moved on by Liverpool at the end of the season.

Speaking to Football Insider, Bent claims Spurs and Arsenal should take a look at Shaqiri:

I think Arsenal would probably take him, Manchester City nope, Chelsea nope, Spurs may potentially take him as well.

I think there will be no shortage of takers so he has nothing to fear about that.

The vast majority of Klopp’s signings at Liverpool have been a roaring success, from Sadio Mane to Virgil van Dijk.

Shaqiri is one of the few who hasn’t quite achieved what many hoped, however, with some of the opinion that he isn’t rated in a tactical sense.

Liverpool managed to sign him for just £13.75 million, however, so they won’t lose out much if they do decide to get rid of him.

He would likely earn more playing time at Spurs or Arsenal.
