Trent Alexander-Arnold is the best right-back in the Premier League “by miles”, according to former Liverpool star Glen Johnson.
The ex-Reds wasn’t always a popular figure during his time at Anfield, but he still enjoyed some good moments at the club.
Johnson is already being comfortably outshone by Alexander-Arnold, however, with the 21-year-old one of the most exciting young players in world football.
When asked by the Daily Express who he thought the premier right-back in England was, Johnson was emphatic in his response:
Trent Alexander-Arnold. By miles at the moment.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka isn’t so much the modern full-back, he sometimes looks like a centre-half playing full-back. He’s a good defender but he’s not got the natural ability that Trent has got.
I know people speak very highly of Reece James at Chelsea. He wouldn’t be in the team if he wasn’t living up to his potential and I hear he’s a great lad as well.

On current form, this is a topic that isn’t even up for debate.
Alexander-Arnold is one of the most influential players for the European champions, almost performing like a midfielder from his right-back role.
In terms of end product, he is right up there with the best in the Premier League and he is improving defensively all the time.
Assuming Alexander-Arnold can avoid serious injury, he can forge a stunning career for club and country.
He has completely changed what being an English right-back is, performing more like Cafu than Gary Neville.
