Liverpool legend Johnny Wheeler passed away on Saturday, at the age of 91.
Wheeler joined the Reds from Bolton Wanderers back in 1956, going on to make 177 appearances for the club.
The former winger scored 23 goals in total, spending seven years at Anfield and forging a superb career there.
Wheeler captained Liverpool, further outlining his status, and he won one cap for England, too.
These Reds supporters have been paying tribute to Wheeler.
Rest in peace ❤️

Read Liverpool Verdict
Such is the adoration Liverpool fans have for the current batch of stars, it is important that past heroes aren’t forgotten.
Wheeler certainly fits into that category, proving to be a key figure during his spell at Anfield.
He may not have played in a golden period for Liverpool, in terms of honours, but he played his part in the Reds returning to the summit of English football.
We wish Johnny’s family all the best at this difficult time.
