The end of the 2010s is fast approaching – it’s fair to say it’s been an up-and-down decade at Liverpool.
Beginning with the disastrous ownership to Tom Hicks and George Gillett, it is concluding with the Reds as European champions and sitting top of the Premier League.
As 2019 draws to a close, there are sure to be endless articles selecting ‘best of’ moments and alike from the decade we have just witnessed.
I decided to pose the question of who Liverpool’s star player has been in the 2010s, putting Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Luis Suarez forward as the nominees:
Who has been Liverpool's best player this decade?

These Reds supporters have been providing their opinions on the matter on Twitter.
Between VVD and Suarez, both complete players in their respective positions and Ballon d’Or contenders.
If we win the title this year would probably go with Virgil.

In his retirement interview stevie was asked who the best player he had played alongside was. He didn't even have to think about his answer. "Luis Suarez by a mile".

Mane for me.. the one who sparked our revival towards the top! I can't forget the excitement this wonderful player gave me when he scored that screamer at the Emirates!!

Read Liverpool Verdict
There have been some magnificent players on show at Anfield over the past 10 years – there have been some bad ones, too!
While Van Dijk, Salah and Mane have all been sensational, and continue to be, Suarez just has the edge.
His performances in the 2013/14 season were without comparison and he is arguably the most gifted player in Liverpool’s history.
He was a genius for the Reds and has deservedly received the most votes.
