Liverpool’s interest in Leeds United loanee Ben White has been described as ‘genuine’.
In a report on The Athletic from reliable Leeds reporter Phil Hay, it is claimed that Liverpool are ‘genuinely interested’ in the young defender.
The Reds will face competition from rivals Manchester United, who it’s claimed have also scouted the player this season.
White has been one of Leeds’ top performers this season after joining on loan from Brighton in the summer.

It’s easy to see why the Reds would be interested in a player like White. As highlighted in the report, he’s a player currently playing with maturity well beyond his years.
Despite being just 22 years of age, he is already developing into a real leader at the back for Leeds – playing a key role in their promotion push this season.

As per WhoScored, he is averaging nearly two tackles and three interceptions a game in the Championship, while only committing 0.8 fouls. He is also ranked as Leeds’ second-highest rated player of the season so far.
With Dejan Lovren due to turn 31 next year, White could be a great long-term option for the Reds, as somebody who could step into the squad in a year or two from now and provide some serious competition.
