Liverpool are looking to beat a host of European clubs to the signing of Lyon wonderkid Mathis Rayan Cherki, according to 90min.
Liverpool have joined Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich in the race to sign the young Frenchman.
Cherki has impressed for Lyon’s youth side, scoring thee and assisting one in just four appearances. The attacking midfielder has made a handful of appearances for the senior squad, all from the bench.
It is reported that the youngster recently signed a new deal at the Ligue 1 side until 2022 and Lyon chairman is looking to keep the young prospect, but admits he is fighting a losing battle in keeping the player at the club and could allow the French youth international leave, if the deal is right.

Cherki could be a real star in the future and is destined for a move to one of Europe’s elite teams in the near future. He has undoubted talent, and will indefinitely seal a move away from Lyon.

This could be a very good signing for the future of Liverpool, as they would be getting a great young prospect. Obviously, Cherki wouldn’t make an instant impact on Merseyside, but would be an exciting player for the future.
It would be easy for Liverpool to secure the Frenchman’s signature, considering the host of top clubs reportedly keen on signing the Lyon midfielder.
