Liverpool are still waiting to hear the outcome of Joel Matip’s latest scan, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The 28-year-old hasn’t featured for the Reds since their 1-1 draw at Manchester United on October 20th.
Matip was in the best form of his Liverpool career until picking up a knee issue, with few players performing better in 2019.
He underwent tests on Friday, but Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he doesn’t yet know when the centre-back’s return date will be:
There’s no update on Joel Matip’s scan for now. We missed Joel long enough.

Getting Matip back fit is of the utmost importance to Liverpool, considering what a key man he has become.
In fairness, Dejan Lovren has generally done well in his absence, but he is still a step down in quality from his teammate.
It does feel as though Liverpool will have to make do without Matip for some time still, unfortunately.
With Alisson suspended and Fabinho injured for Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Everton at Anfield, the Reds’ squad is really being tested.
