Atletico Madrid are keen on signing Timo Werner, according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.
The RB Leipzig striker has been linked with a move to Liverpool, either in January or next summer, as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his attacking options.
Atletico want to acquire his signature as well, but Leipzig are “not planning to sell in the winter”.
Balague does add that the Bundesliga club would “listen to a top offer in the summer”, however, suggesting he will move on.

Werner would be an outstanding signing if Liverpool managed to get it done next summer.
The main stumbling block could be no promise of playing every week, assuming Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all remain at Anfield.
The German international will be expecting to be a key man wherever he goes, which is more likely to be the case at Atletico.
It could be a fascinating transfer story to keep an eye on, but it looks as though any potential January move is out of the question.
