This Liverpool side could be the greatest in the club’s history, according to Micky Quinn.

Jurgen Klopp’s side won 2-0 away to Salzburg on Tuesday evening, securing their place in the last-16 of the Champions League.

The Reds not only look well-placed to successfully defend their European crown, but they are also eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.

What they are achieving at the moment is remarkable, as Klopp’s men break records left, right and centre.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday, boyhood Liverpool supporter Quinn lauded the current crop as possibly the best ever:

They were breathtaking last night, they took my breath away.

Liverpool hadn’t really played that well until the Merseyside derby, and then Bournemouth and then last night – their last three games were three complete performances with two clean sheets and banging in goals left, right and centre.

I never get carried away, but I’m going to say now that this potentially could be the best Liverpool team ever.

And I mean that.
