Rio Ferdinand has backed Liverpool to win back-to-back Champions League titles this season – something that might not endear him to Manchester United supporters.
The Reds clinched glory in Madrid back in June, on one of the greatest nights in the club’s history.
If anything, Liverpool have gone up another gear since then, dropping just two points in the Premier League this season and making it into the last-16 of the Champions League.
It has led to Ferdinand tipping his former rivals to go all the way in Europe once again, agreeing with colleagues Peter Crouch and Glenn Hoddle in the BT Sport studio:
It’s a clean sweep for Liverpool, they just look the more complete team.
They’ve just got a mentality, once you win, they’ve been on the cusp of winning for a couple of years but they got over that line, they won the big one, the Champions League.
They look like they’re going to win the Premier League now, I think they’ve just got a mentality now that they’re not going to lose.
