Jurgen Klopp has hinted that signing a new deal at Liverpool makes it easier for more transfer business to be done.
The 52-year-old pledged his future to the Reds on Friday, extending his stay at Anfield to 2024.
There were concerns that Klopp would leave once his original contract expired in 2022, but happily, that won’t be the case.
Speaking at Melwood in his pre-Watford press conference, the Liverpool boss hinted that assurances over his future could entice new players to arrive next year:
The club was asking for a while already if we could talk about it and I thought it made sense before things got a bit intense.
When you bring new players in, they ask how long will the manager be here? We wanted to avoid that.

Klopp’s new deal is the best news Reds supporters could have asked for, as the club continues to thrive under his management.
He has already played a huge role in attracting numerous top players to Anfield, including Virgil van Dijk and Alisson, and that shouldn’t change any time soon.
The fact that potential new arrivals don’t have to worry about the prospect of Klopp leaving in 2022 makes a big difference, hopefully making them pick Liverpool over others.
