Jurgen Klopp has hinted that a deal for Liverpool to sign Takumi Minamino is all but done.

The Japanese midfielder is reportedly on the brink of becoming a Red, with a January move mooted.

The 24-year-old impressed for Salzburg against Liverpool in the Champions League and will only cost £7.25 million.

Klopp is never one to talk about transfer business before deals are completed, but he may have given the game away this time.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash at home to Watford on Saturday, the Reds manager responded to a Japanese reporter, saying:

Why are you here? Maybe we will see you more often now.

Minamino will be an excellent signing for Liverpool, not only bringing guile and end product to the middle of the park, but also a strong work ethic.

He will add even more depth to a midfield that already possesses so much quality with the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in it.

Klopp giving such an obvious hint surely suggests Minamino will be a Liverpool player by the time January 1st arrives.
