Liverpool’s move for Sancho “still on” but move has “gone a bit colder”

Liverpool’s move for Jadon Sancho is “still on”, according to Jan Aage Fjortoft, but there could be a few issues with the move going through.

The 19-year-old is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, with a January exit ruled out.

Liverpool are one of those to have been strongly linked with a move for Sancho, as have Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Reds are seen as front-runners to sign him, but nothing is concrete yet.

Providing an update on the situation on Thursday, Viasport presenter Fjortoft tweeted the following:

Fjortoft is seen as a very reliable source of Bundesliga-related news, so his comments should be listened to.

It appears as though Sancho’s price tag is acting as the main stumbling block, but a summer move still feels likely.

If a transfer was completed, it would be a hugely exciting piece of business, considering the England winger’s vast potential.

He would be both an instant key man and a long-term addition, eventually filling the void left by the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
