Pep Guardiola famously made a subtle dig at Liverpool for supposedly going to ground too easily earlier this season.
The Spaniard appeared irked by some penalties that the Reds were winning, especially by Sadio Mane, although he eventually backtracked over the comments.
His words haven’t been forgotten, though, and on Wednesday night he may have been feeling slightly foolish.
Guardiola’s Manchester City side won 3-1 away to Oxford United in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, but one moment stood out rather than their victory.
Joao Cancelo produced a dreadful dive, having attempted to trip up an Oxford player seconds earlier:
What are Guardiolas views on diving again?

Cancelo’s dive is one of the most embarrassing you will see all season – it is even worse because he was the instigator.
Guardiola’s team playing fantastic football, but they are also capable of taking gamesmanship to another level.
Their tactical fouls and ability to play on the edge is often not pointed out, but Liverpool fans know all about it by now.
