Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan is one of the highest-rated players in his position in the French Ligue 1.
The 24-year-old shot-stopper has kept seven Ligue 1 clean sheets this season and admitted his admiration for Liverpool.
As quoted on Get French Football News, Maignan said:
I have been a big fan of Liverpool since I was little.
I like Steven Gerrard a lot, I used to love his style.
Why not! (one day move to Liverpool).
Maignan was also one of Lille’s star performers in the UEFA Champions League group stages and is continuing to develop very well.

His comments will be pleasing to hear for everyone associated with Liverpool because it shows that the club’s recent domination has resulted in players all over the world wanting to play for them.
Maignan is actually a very good goalkeeper and maybe, one day, the Reds could pursue him as a backup for Alisson.
For now though, the Reds are continuing to be successful and there’s no doubt that Maignan will be cheering them on as a fan, for now at least.
