Pep Guardiola has described Liverpool as “incredible”, but won’t give up on the Premier League title race just yet.
The Reds have been in remarkable form this season, winning 18 and drawing one of their 19 league games.
City, on the other hand, have floundered in defence of their title, currently sitting 14 points behind Liverpool, having played one game more.
It is a gap that many believe is now too much, but Reds supporters aren’t allowing themselves to get carried away.
Speaking to the Mirror, Guardiola lauded the brilliance of Jurgen Klopp’s side, but believes his team can still fight their way back into the title picture:
All we can do is work harder, play better, and pray.
There are things we cannot control, there are other issues we cannot control, we cannot control what a fantastic team like Liverpool have done so far and there are other issues you cannot control. When everyone is fit we can do it.
This is still a fantastic team and I love it. We’ve had problems with injuries, which sometimes happens. Liverpool have been incredible, they are European champions and they have dropped just two points.
We have to congratulate them. I know the distance we are is not what it should be – but it is what it is.

While many are already handing Liverpool the Premier League title, they still have plenty of work to do.
Klopp’s men cannot afford to rest on their laurels and must continue their incredible winning run.
City are capable of winning 15 matches in a row, so any slip-up from the Reds could see the champions pounce.
