Andy Robertson has heaped praise on Jurgen Klopp’s influence as Liverpool manager, describing him as “more than a manager”.
The German signed Robertson from Hull City back in 2017 and has helped him become one of the first names on the team-sheet.
Klopp is doing an incredible job in charge of the Reds, whether it be his tactical brilliance or his man management skills.
It is clear that he shares a special bond with his players and Robertson’s latest remarks outline that.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the Scot lauded his manager, discussing what it is that makes him so special:
He’s like the father figure of Melwood.
To us he is more than a manager. Of course he sets up the team and gives the tactics. Players who aren’t playing wont be happy at times and that is natural but the way he comes across and explains it – it makes it that bit easier.
If you ever need anything he is there for you. That is why we all look up to him like a father figure. We’re away from our families a lot and he’s the one who drives us all forward and that is so important to have.
I’ve been lucky to have some great managers on my way up, but for me he is the tip of it.
He has the whole package and that’s why he is such a successful manager.

Klopp is surely the best manager in the world at the moment, especially with Pep Guardiola having an up-and-down time of things at Manchester City.
He has been a revelation at Liverpool, proving to be the most important thing to happen to the club in years.
Having recently committed his future until the summer of 2024, the hope is that Klopp stays beyond that date.
