Monterrey manager Antonio Mohamed has accused Jurgen Klopp of a lack of respect.
Liverpool beat the Mexican side 2-1 in the Club World Cup semi-finals last month, thanks to a late Roberto Firmino winner.
In what was a physical contest, tempers also flared on the touchline, with Mohamed and Klopp both booked during proceedings.
The Liverpool boss took exception to Mohamed asking for Joe Gomez to be sent-off, after he waved an imaginary card towards the referee.
Klopp subsequently mocked his opponent’s antics, causing much tension between the two managers.
In an interview with Enganche, with quotes provided by the Daily Star, Mohamed laid into the German for his behaviour, saying he was disrespectful towards him:
He was not respectful. I felt he tried to trash me.
He kept asking for yellow cards because he said we were fouling Salah. Then when I asked for a player to be sent off, he stuck out his tongue and made fun of me.
I laughed at first, but then it bothered me a little, I lost my cool.
I insulted him in Spanish and rose to his bait. My background came out and I lost all elegance and composure.

Mohamed’s comments are very over-the-top, considering he was the instigator.
Seeing anyone wave a card is never good to see and Klopp had every right to take offence.
It summed up a heated match and Mohamed’s remarks reek of sour grapes because his team lost.
He was a spiky character throughout the match, but Klopp more than held his own in the end.
