Jordan Henderson is the best player in the world in his position, according to Flamengo manager Jorge Jesus.
The Liverpool captain has found a superb run of form in recent weeks, especially since filling in for the injured Fabinho in the No.6 role.
He seems to have taken his game up another gear, lifting yet another trophy after the Reds’ Club World Cup success in Qatar.
Henderson was excellent against Flamengo in the final last month, playing a key role in Roberto Firmino’s winning goal.
The 29-year-old clearly caught the eye of Jesus, who in an interview with CMTV, via Goal, called him the best around in his position:
Henderson is the best midfielder in the world in his position.
[Jurgen Klopp] never sacks him, but the two offensive midfielders, [Naby] Keita and [Georginio] Wijnaldum, sometimes are replaced. The others players are always the same.

This is huge praise for Henderson and it further sums up the changing of the tide when it comes to how many view him these days.
He has forever been divisive, but for the first time, there seems to be resounding positivity surrounding his performances.
In truth, Jesus’ comments are slightly over-the-top and it also shouldn’t be forgotten that the Liverpool skipper is better in a more forward-thinking role, using his dynamism to better use.
If anything, it is Fabinho who is the best No.6 around, offering world-class positional sense, calm in possession and aerial prowess.
The praise is richly deserved, however, and if Henderson can win the Premier League as captain this season, he will be a genuine Reds legend.
