Liverpool are attempting to sign Arsenal club doctor Gary O’Driscoll, according to the Daily Mail.

O’Driscoll is the head of medical services at the Emirates, and is being linked with replacing Andrew Massey in the role with the Reds.

Massey is set to depart for a job at FIFA from March 1st, leaving a vacancy at the club.

O’Driscoll is described as a ‘leading candidate’ to fill the void left by Massey, with the 49-year-old seen as ‘one of the best in his field.’

The Gunners are thought to be fighting hard to keep their man, but the lure of heading to the European champions could be too much for him to turn down.

It speaks volumes that Liverpool are now in a position where they can poach top talent from rival clubs.

They are arguably the most appealing club in the world to join currently, with Jurgen Klopp creating an environment where everyone is pulling in the same direction, winning trophies at the same time.

O’Driscoll would be a great appointment, should he decide to move from London to Liverpool, given his wealth of experience in the role.
