Date and time confirmed for Liverpool’s FA Cup fourth round tie

Liverpool will face either Shrewsbury Town or Bristol City on Sunday, January 26th, the FA have confirmed.

The Reds made it into the fourth round of the competition last Sunday, following a famous 1-0 win over Everton at Anfield.

A much-changed team did themselves proud against a full-strength Blues side, with Curtis Jones scoring a brilliant winner in the second half.

The win set up a fourth round clash with Shrewsbury or Bristol City, who play their third round replay next Tuesday.

Liverpool’s trip to whoever progresses will be shown live on BBC One, with kickoff at 5pm (GMT).

I believe Jurgen Klopp should stick with his tactic of playing the youngsters and fringe players in the next round.

The Premier League clearly takes precedence this season and Liverpool face a tough trip to Wolves three days before the FA Cup game.

Playing key men in both matches would be risking injuries and fatigue at a critical point in the season, as the Reds look to end the long wait for a league title.

The likes of Neco Williams, Nat Phillips, Pedro Chirivella, Harvey Elliott and Jones have shown they can more than hold their own against top flight opposition, so playing them against a weaker team shouldn’t be an issue.
