Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for December, the club confirmed on Thursday.
The 21-year-old had an exceptional festive period, showing why many consider him the world’s best right-back at the moment.
Alexander-Arnold’s best performance came away to Leicester City on Boxing Day, when he notched one goal and two assists in the Reds’ 4-0 victory.
He added a further two assists in December, against Everton and Monterrey, putting together the kind of numbers a midfielder would be proud of.
These Liverpool supporters have been showering Alexander-Arnold with praise on Twitter.
You deserve it. Congratulations 🎉

Read Liverpool Verdict
We believe Alexander-Arnold is the most influential full-back in world football at the moment, almost redefining the role.
I feel as if Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich is the other standout candidate, but he only has one goal and three assists for the whole season in the Bundesliga – the same amount Alexander-Arnold managed in December alone in the Premier League.
I believe the quality he possesses in his passing and crossing are worthy of Steven Gerrard at his peak, with no Premier League player registering more assists (20) since the beginning of last season. Andy Robertson (17) is second, incidentally.
Alexander-Arnold is second only to Sadio Mane in Liverpool’s Player of the Year stakes currently and he is the third-favourite to win the prestigious PFA Player of the Year award, according to Oddschecker.
This is a truly special talent we are watching, and at 21, this should only be the beginning of a legendary career.
