Liverpool could potentially have been handed a huge boost, with Manchester United’s Harry Maguire set to miss the clash.
The Telegraph reports that Maguire picked up an injury against Wolves in the FA Cup, which caused him to miss the Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester City.
Maguire’s injury will put him out for a while, but the club have yet to discover how long it will be.
It does, however, put him in serious doubt for United’s clash with Liverpool later this month.
Several Liverpool fans took to Twitter to react to the news, with several being hopeful that Phil Jones could be the one to replace the former Leicester City man.

Liverpool have been in great form this season, remaining unbeaten in the league.
Therefore they will be confident going into the game against Man United, even if the Red Devils do not have Maguire.
Maguire has only managed three clean sheets so far this season with United, as per the Premier League’s official website, with United really struggling at the back.
