Liverpool will aim to continue their remarkable start to the season when they face Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham away in north London this Saturday evening.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have been in flawless form this season, and are yet to lose a league game. They would look keep that going on Saturday.
However, it won’t be easy as Spurs have a decent record at their home, despite the absence of captain Harry Kane.
We all know Mourinho has a plan for big games, and he sure will have one come this weekend. So, Klopp and his men will have to be at their best.
In terms of team news, Naby Keita and James Milner are out with muscle injuries. Dejan Lovren and Fabinho will be back in training next week.
Xherdan Shaqiri and Joel Matip are back in training with the squad.
That being said, here’s how we think Klopp may line his XI up:
GK - Alisson
The Brazilian got a rest from the FA Cup game. He should be back in goal this weekend.
RB - Trent Alexander-Arnold
The youngster has been great form and deservedly won the club and league’s player of the month of December.
He should be in the XI come Saturday.
CB - Joe Gomez
The Englishman has been in great form since December. He should partner van Dijk in defence, irrespective of the fact that Matip is back.
CB - Virgil van Dijk
The Dutchman got a deserved rest from the FA Cup game. He should slot straight back into the XI on Saturday.
LB - Andy Robertson
Robertson is another player who got a game off last weekend. He is set to slot back into the team.
CDM - Jordan Henderson
Captain Henderson has been in fantastic form. In continued absence of Fabinho, he is set to lead the team out by playing in defensive midfield.
RCM - Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
In absence of Milner and Keita, fit again Oxlade-Chamberlain may get a nod in central midfield for this game.
LCM - Georginio Wijnaldum
Wijnaldum is one of the first names on the team sheet. His big game form is always very positive. He would aim to perform well again on Saturday.
RW - Mohamed Salah
The Egyptian star’s scoring form has been good since the past month or so. He would be looking to continue his form this weekend.
ST - Roberto Firmino
Firmino has been hit and miss in terms of performance level in the past month or so. He is still Liverpool’s key player and a starter for their game against Spurs.
LW - Sadio Mane
Mane was an unused sub against Everton in the FA Cup. The African player of the year is destined to return to the starting XI this weekend.
