Alisson has hailed the impact of Roberto Firmino, admitting he is one of Liverpool’s ‘most important’ players.

Firmino was the Reds’ match-winner on Saturday, firing home the only goal of the game away to Tottenham.

The 28-year-old continues to flourish at Anfield, where has now scored 75 goals in 223 appearances.

Speaking to LiverpoolFC.com, Alisson lauded his teammate and compatriot, highlighting what he brings to the team:

Bobby is one of the most important players in our team – and we have a lot.

I think everybody is important but Bobby not only scores when we need him, he makes the team play, he drops to play from behind.

This is a good thing and it is something that he likes to do, he likes to help, and I’m really happy that he scored because a striker needs to score to stay confident and he is helping us with the goals.

In my opinion, Firmino actually still remains underappreciated, despite being considered a world-class player.

We see him as a truly great No.9, combining vast intelligence, silky end product and the most admirable work-rate from a striker in Europe.

His selflessness allows Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to make the headlines, dropping deep and creating space for them in behind.

Firmino is the man who makes Liverpool tick more than anyone, though, in my opinion, and when he plays badly, so do the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp likely wouldn’t change him for anyone in the world, even though there are more ruthless finishers, such as Sergio Aguero and Robert Lewandowski.

I think the Brazilian is well on his way to becoming a Liverpool legend, if he isn’t already, as well as one of the best-ever South Americans to play in the Premier League.
