Neil Warnock has ranked Jurgen Klopp above Alex Ferguson in his list of the five greatest Premier League managers of all time.

The former Sheffield United boss picked Arsene Wenger as his number one, with Pep Guardiola behind him.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Warnock revealed why he selected Klopp in third place, ahead of Ferguson and Jose Mourinho:

I believe Klopp is the most important thing to happen to Liverpool this century, completely transforming the club since arriving in October 2015.

He is the best manager in the world currently, in my opinion, and winning the Premier League this season would make him a legend forever at Anfield.

Despite this, I cannot go along with Warnock’s opinion – not yet, anyway.

Ferguson is one of the best managers in the history of the game, dominating English football with Manchester United for the best part of 20 years.

It pains me to admit that someone associated to United was so special, but Ferguson was a true great and the finest manager in Premier League history.

That’s not to downplay Klopp’s achievements, though, and the job he is doing at the moment is truly remarkable.
