Liverpool players have been included in the Champions League Team of the Year, following a memorable year.
The Reds went all the way in Europe’s premier club competition last season, beating Tottenham 2-0 in the final in Madrid.
Their efforts have been rewarded, with Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane all picked in the latest Team of the Year.
They are joined by Matthijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong, Kevin De Bruyne, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski.

All five players are more than worthy of their place in the side, in my opinion.
I think Alisson and Virgil van Dijk are the best in the world in the respective positions and the same could apply to Alexander-Arnold and Robertson, too.
Would you really rather have anyone else instead?
Mane was Liverpool’s standout attacking player over Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino and he has continued in that vein this season, finding himself as the favourite to win the PFA Player of the Year award, according to Oddschecker.
While Salah and Firmino played a big part in the Reds’ success, I think putting them in over Messi and Ronaldo would have been a stretch, given the latter pair’s status as all-time greats of the game.
If anything, Gini Wijnaldum could feel a little hard done by, especially after scoring twice against Barcelona, but De Jong and De Bruyne were influential for Ajax and Manchester City respectively.
