Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick was involved in a ‘heated row’ with Liverpool supporters on Sunday, according to The Athletic’s James Pearce.
The Reds beat their bitter rivals 2-0 at Anfield, putting them 16 points ahead of Manchester City.
Tempers flared during the first half, with United’s assistant manager Carrick exchanging angry words from the dugout.
These Liverpool supporters saw the funny side of the incident on Twitter, claiming the Reds’ success is getting to the ex-United man.

Read Liverpool Verdict
Clashes between Liverpool and United will always be heated, so this incident is no great surprise.
Carrick was unprofessional in reacting to the fans, though, in my opinion, suggesting the Reds’ success is in the heads of their rivals.
The former midfielder knows all about the history between the two clubs and he let his guard down on Sunday afternoon.
If Liverpool weren’t getting to him, he would surely ignore the jibes and get on with his job.
