Sevilla and Roma have both failed in moves to try and sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Liverpool, according to The Athletic’s James Pearce.
He claims that both clubs have tried to sign the player on loan, but the Reds are refusing to lose the 28-year-old this month, despite the fact he’s only started twice in the Premier League this season (WhoScored).
However, Pearce goes on to add that the Reds would consider selling the player in the summer on a permanent deal, providing any potential suitors can meet their €30 million (£25.5m) asking price.
Shaqiri joined Liverpool back in 2018 for just £13 million from Stoke (BBC), meaning the club stand to make a healthy profit on the Swiss star if they do go on to sell.
These Liverpool fans on social media have been reacting to the news, with many believing Michael Edwards can get another good deal over the line.
