Fabinho’s comments about Henderson are spot on

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has been ruled out of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Watford.

As reported on the official Liverpool website, the midfielder suffered an injury during last week’s UEFA Champions League last 16 first leg against Atletico Madrid in Spain.

Fabinho believes that the team will miss Hendo’s qualities but it serves a chance for himself and other members of the team to stand up and make themselves be counted.

We feel that his take on the skipper’s absence is spot on. Why? It is a chance to show how strong of a team Liverpool are at the moment.

Henderson has been hugely influential in recent matches, providing two goals and three assists in his last four top-flight appearances (Transfermarkt), but this is a chance for the group to pull together and keep the momentum going without the skipper.

When Fabinho was out of action for several weeks, Henderson and co had to step up and plug the gap that he left and now the Brazilian knows he must return the favour.

Fabinho also admitted that the Englishman has been one of the team’s best players this season.

His displays have resulted in many people, including talkSPORT duo Adrian Durham and Darren Bent, claiming that he deserves the PFA Player of the Year award at the end of the season.

To be tipped to win that ahead of the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Sergio Aguero certainly means he’s doing something right.

Let’s hope Fabinho’s been watching Hendo’s performances closely and if he plays anywhere near how the captain has been recently, then we feel the team should be just fine.
