A remarkable statistic surrounding Joe Gomez has emerged, highlighting his vast influence in a Liverpool shirt.
The 22-year-old joined the Reds from Charlton Athletic for £3.5 million back in 2015, and was viewed as a defender of huge potential.
Gomez suffered a major setback when Jurgen Klopp arrived at the club, damaging his cruciate ligaments, curtailing his progress significantly for around a year.
He has recovered superbly in the years since, however, becoming Virgil van Dijk’s first-choice centre-back partner for the Reds.
Gomez is on the verge of picking up a Premier League winners’ medal, and could also star for England at Euro 2020 this summer, with his stock arguably never higher.
Incredibly, journalist Richard Jolly has pointed out that the youngster has never lost a home game for Liverpool when he has started at centre-back.
Liverpool have never lost a Premier League game Joe Gomez has started at centre-back. He joined in 2015. (They have lost PL games he has started at right-back or left-back, but none since January 2018).

It is a truly amazing stat and one that shows how integral Gomez will be moving forward, as he approaches five years on Merseyside.
The former Charlton man could start against Bournemouth on Saturday, as Liverpool look to get their season back on track.
