Jurgen Klopp can continue a remarkable record as Liverpool manager on Wednesday night, as the Reds entertain Atletico Madrid at Anfield.
The two sides meet in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie, with the La Liga giants winning 1-0 first time around.
It gives Liverpool plenty of work to do, but history suggests they still have a great chance of reaching the quarter finals.
Incredibly, Klopp is still yet to lose a European knockout tie as Reds manager, going all the way back to his arrival in October 2015.
Liverpool reached the Europa League final in his first season in charge at Anfield, losing to Sevilla in the showcase event.
In the knockout rounds, they saw off challenges from Augsburg, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal.
The following year, the Merseysiders weren’t involved in any European competitions, before making it all the way to Champions League final in 2017/18, having beaten Porto, Manchester City and Roma on their way to Kiev.
While they suffered heartbreak at the hands of Real Madrid, they made amends 12 months later, beating Tottenham in the final to clinch a sixth European Cup, after previous two-legged victories over Bayern Munich, Porto and Barcelona.
It sums up what a stunning job Klopp is doing, but will Wednesday’s clash with Atletico see this amazing run come to an end?
