Liverpool are reportedly eyeing up the potential signing of Adama Traore this summer, according to Football Insider.

The Wolves winger has enjoyed an impressive season, scoring four goals and registering seven assists in the Premier League.

It is claimed that Traore is seen a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane, should one of the Reds pair leave in the coming months.

The 24-year-old is believed to be on a shortlist of attackers for Liverpool this summer.

I don’t think Traore is the right alternative to Salah or Mane. The Spaniard remains raw in his all-round game, with his incredible speed too often let down by disappointing end product. His statistics this season may suggest otherwise, but he has only done it for one season.

In 2018/19, for example, he managed just one goal and assist apiece in 29 league appearances, while his 73.6 per cent pass completion rate in 2019/20 is inferior to Salah (76.1%) and Mane (81.0%), suggesting he could lose possession too cheaply for Liverpool, too.

Traore’s numbers are not close to resembling Salah and Mane’s, with the Liverpool pair enjoying a combined total of 43 goals and assists in the league alone in 2019/20.
