Robbie Fowler opened the scoring early on, only for Les Ferdinand and David Ginola to turn the game on its head.

Fowler equalised in the second half, but Faustino Asprilla put Newcastle back in front.

It was left to Stan Collymore to be the hero, finishing from close-range to make it 3-3, before firing home the winner in front of the Kop in stoppage time.
