Fidel O’Rourke signs professional deal at Liverpool
Liverpool have announced that 18-year-old striker Fidel O’Rourke has signed his first professional contact with the Reds.
The teenager has been with Liverpool since U14s level and he’s made his way through the academy ranks, to the point where he is now a paid professional.
Unlike a lot of academy players who join clubs at very young ages, O’Rourke was spotted whilst representing his secondary school team.
He was signed up and obviously, he made a good impression as he was handed the captain’s armband at the under 18s level when regular skipper Paul Glatzel was with the U23 squad.

Signing professional papers with his boyhood club must be a great feeling for O’Rourke, but that will hopefully be just the first step on his way to becoming a major player for Liverpool in the future.
Given the sheer quality that the Reds possess in attacking areas, it could be difficult for the teenager to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s plans in the immediate future but having watched him on numerous occasions, I’m confident in saying that he certainly has the attributes needed to be a Liverpool first-team player in the future.
