Liverpool are interested in signing Lyon star Houssem Aouar this summer, according to a report from Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, as translated by Sport Witness.
The report suggests that Juventus are keen to sign the French U21 international but they believe that Liverpool and Real Madrid are firmly in the mix for the midfielder too.
The early curtailment of the Ligue 1 season almost certainly means that Lyon won’t be playing in Europe next season and as such, they may need to sell players in order to make up for the revenue they’ve lost by not qualifying for the Champions League or Europa League.
Furthermore, the recent global pandemic has hit the French side too and as such, they could reportedly cash in on the likes of Aouar, Memphis Depay and Moussa Dembele.

If the asking price of €50m reported by Corriere dello Sport is accurate, then that could be a relative bargain for Liverpool.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the midfielder and it could be a challenge to sign him, but The Reds are now part of Europe’s elite, which hasn’t always been the case over the last decade.
With Adam Lallana set to leave this Liverpool summer, the Reds may be eyeing a replacement and Aouar could be a perfect fit given his passing, dribbling and defensive ability, all of which he has very good stats for.
