One remarkable statistic has highlighted the huge influence of Jordan Henderson at Liverpool.

The 30-year-old has enjoyed quite a journey during his nine years at Anfield, arriving in 2011 and struggling to find his feet.

Henderson failed to justify the £16million Liverpool paid Sunderland for his services and he almost found himself sold to Fulham by Brendan Rodgers.

The midfielder has steadily grown as the years have passed however, and in recent times he has cemented his place as a Reds legend, lifting both the Champions League and Premier League trophies as captain.

Replacing Steven Gerrard in the role was always going to be a tough ask, but he has done the job admirably and is now an undisputed hero in his own right.

If Henderson’s importance to Jurgen Klopp is still questioned by some, particularly outside of Liverpool, one statistic perfectly sums up the influence he has.

An article in BBC Sport documenting Henderson’s Reds career states that Liverpool have lost just 12 Premier League games out of 130 when Henderson has played under Klopp.

On the flip side, the Reds have suffered defeat in 11 of the 55 matches when he has been absent, showing what a massive loss he is.

The Liverpool skipper is back fit and in contention to start Saturday’s Merseyside derby clash away to Everton – if Klopp wants to win the game, history suggests his captain should feature.
