Liverpool have been a handed a double boost ahead of the Merseyside derby against Everton, with Fabinho and Roberto Firmino both ready to take part.

The Reds head to Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime, knowing a win will take them level with their table-topping rivals.

With Fabinho and Firmino both potentially not returning from Brazil duty until late in the week, there were fears that they would be ruled out this weekend.

Those worries have been allayed, however, with This Is Anfield reporting that the South American pair were back in training at Melwood on Thursday and are in contention to start.

Liverpool are looking for their first win, and goal, at Goodison since December 2016, when a late Sadio Mane strike earned them a 1-0 victory.

Having both Fabinho and Firmino available is undoubtedly a huge bonus for the Reds, given how much they contribute to the side.

Fabinho could potentially slot in at centre-back, as he did when he shone so brightly against Chelsea, earning a 9/10 rating from This Is Anfield.

With Joe Gomez in poor form, and Joel Matip only just back in the fold, it is certainly something for Jurgen Klopp to consider.

Meanwhile, Firmino has been far from his best of late, but a double for Brazil against Bolivia has hopefully played him back into form.

The 29-year-old remains a vital foil for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, and it would be just like him to bag the winner, as he did away to the likes of Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Wolves last season.
