Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has been included in UEFA’s ‘Ultimate Team of the Year‘, it was revealed on Wednesday.

Gerrard is unquestionably one of the best midfielders of his generation, if not of any generation, with his all-round game almost incomparable. The ex-Liverpool captain could do everything as a player, possessing technical quality, leadership, pace, power, end product and versatility.
Gerrard so often single-handedly dragged average Reds teams through games – you just wonder how he would have fared in better line-ups during his career.
The idea of him playing in this current Liverpool outfit at his peak is a mouthwatering one, with the 40-year-old likely to have excelled under Jurgen Klopp and making them even stronger had he been in his peak now.
