A number of Liverpool supporters have been critical of Gareth Bale, after he appeared to mock Loris Karius during a Tottenham training session.
Karius joined the Reds in 2016, arriving as a highly-rated young goalkeeper who could help take Jurgen Klopp’s side to the next level.
The German never got going at Liverpool, however, and he endured one of the worst-ever games by a Reds player in the 2018 Champions League final.
Karius all but single-handedly lost the game for Liverpool, as two shocking errors saw Klopp’s men beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid.
His second mistake of the night saw him fumble Bale’s long-range into the net, ending the Reds’ hope of victory.
It was an evening that Karius has struggled to come back from and he hasn’t played a competitive game for Liverpool since, now plying his trade on loan at Union Berlin.
On Thursday, a clip surfaced on Twitter, courtesy of Sport Bible, of Bale calling a colleague “Karius” after he dropped the ball in training.
These Liverpool supporters were not impressed with the Spurs star’s behaviour, accusing him and the club of disrespect to a fellow professional.
Pathetic by Bale. https://t.co/Wlz464RAHq
