Liverpool are believed to be one of the Premier League clubs who remain interested in bringing Jadon Sancho back to England according to Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast, Romano claimed Sancho will leave Borussia Dortmund next summer, with Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United all interested in the winger.
The 20-year-old was highly coveted by Reds arch-rivals United during the summer and Romano touched on how close that deal was to become a reality.
”Yes, he was really one step away from leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer, Manchester United were really close to signing him for €100m, but then Borussia Dortmund changed their plans.”
However, Romano believes that move failing to materialise could open the door for the Premier League champions to step in.
”I say next summer, I expect Jadon Sancho to leave the club and be back in the Premier League. I will say like Liverpool, Chelsea, and a lot of clubs are scouting the situation of Jadon Sancho, so at this point the race is open.”

The unsettled nature of the youngster’s summer may have affected Sancho’s performances in the early weeks of this season as his numbers are way down on previous campaigns.
With 18 senior international caps already to his name and having imparted 34 goal contributions in just 32 Bundesliga matches last season – there is no doubt Sancho is a prestigious talent who Jurgen Klopp would be delighted to lure to Anfield.
United’s failure to land Sancho when they seemingly had a clear run at the youngster may come back to bite them. Liverpool are clearly a more attractive proposition right now, with recent top honours and an exciting brand of football – akin to what Sancho knows at Dortmund – enough to turn any head.
Whether we want to face the reality or not, both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are going to move on eventually – with both turning 29 in the not too distant future, Sancho could be the ideal long-term replacement.
