A number of Liverpool fans have been left feeling dejected, following Jurgen Klopp’s injury update on Thiago.
The Spaniard arrived from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window, in what was a hugely exciting piece of business.
Unfortunately, Thiago has been to just two appearances and 135 minutes of action to date, featuring in the win away to Chelsea and draw at Everton.
It was in the latter game that the 29-year-old was injured after a shocking tackle from Richarlison and he hasn’t played since.
The hope had been that he would feature in Wednesday evening’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United at St James’ Park, but Klopp has confirmed that he still “needs a few sessions” before he is ready.
It means the wait looks likely to go on to see Thiago back in action, with next Monday’s trip to Southampton a more realistic return date.
