Liverpool have been long-time admirers of Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka, who has compared himself to two Reds stars this week.
The 22-year-old, who has also attracted the attention of both Manchester giants, told BBC Sport how he strives to emulate Anfield duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, as well as another Premier League star.
He said: ”To see our big brothers like (Pierre-Emerick) Aubameyang, (Mohamed) Salah, (Sadio) Mane, it’s something that gives me the dream that I can also make it, I can be like them. They are my inspiration, knowing that they also come from Africa.”
The Zambia under-23 international has certainly begun the 2021/21 campaign in superstar-esque form. With 15 goals in 17 matches across all competitions and 11 goal contributions in the Austrian Bundesliga, Daka is making a serious name for himself.
Valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, interest in the Zambian youngster is rife and will only intensify should his current goalscoring rate continue.

Signing Daka may not be an immedaite priority for Jurgen Klopp given the calibre of the current first choice front three at Anfield. However, at some point there will have to be a freshening up of the prestigious trio, and Daka could fit the bill perfectly.
The admission of his desire to follow in the footsteps of Salah and Mane will only serve to heighten the ‘Daka to Liverpool’ speculation – something we fully endorse.
