Mohamed Salah has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for December, coming up against Manchester United and Manchester City stars, among others.
The 28-year-old has been one of Liverpool’s best players so far this season, scoring 13 goals in 16 league appearances.
Salah was a key figure for the Reds throughout December, netting five times overall, against Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham and Crystal Palace, also registering two assists.
The Egyptian is up against United duo Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, and City defender John Stones, not to mention Anwar El Ghazi, Emiliano Martinez, Ben Mee and Tomas Soucek.

December was another productive month for Salah, who continues to score at such a relentless rate for Liverpool.
Whether or not he has done enough to win the award remains to be seen, but the fact that he is the Reds’ only nominee highlights his vast influence.
Salah has made a below par start to January, however, struggling in Monday’s 1-0 defeat at Southampton, as did numerous Liverpool players.
The hope is that he is back to his absolute best for the crucial visit of United a week on Sunday, in what could be a huge day in the title race.
