“I want to stay” – Mohamed Salah happy to remain at Liverpool

Mohamed Salah claims he is happy at Liverpool, saying his future remains in the club’s hands.

The 28-year-old is going through a dip by his world-class standards, failing to score in his last four Premier League appearances.

Salah’s drop-off happens to have occurred since he told AS that he couldn’t rule out a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona last month, leading to speculation surrounding his future.

Speaking to TV2 [via Sport Witness], however, Liverpool’s flying forward suggested he wants to stay at Anfield:

I don’t know. If you ask me, I say I want to stay here as long as I can, but as I’ve said before, it’s in the club’s hands,” he said.

I’m always going to give 100 percent until the last minute I’m at this club and I want to win as many trophies as I can. And I want to give 100 percent to the people, who show me love all the time.

This is a huge boost for Liverpool, with Salah arguably the most influential player of the Jurgen Klopp era.

His astonishing record of 111 goals and 41 assists in 178 appearances for the Reds speaks for itself, and at 28, he remains at the peak of his powers.

Salah’s relentless end product would arguably only be truly appreciated when he leaves – hopefully, that won’t happen for a long time.

It does appear as though he is more than happy at Liverpool, so many supporters will no doubt by relieved by his latest comments.
